New Year, New Mission!

Congratulations everyone, if you're reading this, you survived another year!

That is to say, we just completed another 365.25 day orbit around the Sun! Remember, no matter how big you think your problems are, we’re all just tiny, temporary specs on a giant rock flying through space at 67,000 miles per hour around one star out of the 100 Billion+ stars in the Milky Way Galaxy - which is only one of 100 Billion+ galaxies in the Universe. Soak that in for a minute.

5 years ago, Wazoo was 2 guys in a garage with a goal of making cool, functional gear that can save lives. Through the years, with the help of our customers, industry partners, and the Wazoo community, we’ve pioneered an entire industry of wearable survival kits. We’ve had our challenges, we’ve learned from our mistakes, and we are constantly evolving. Until now, we’ve been a company that simply makes products, but 2019 marks the beginning of a bigger mission for Wazoo!

As most of you already know, we are moving the company to Longmont, CO. What you may not know is that we may have to reconsider our name Wazoo Survival Gear. We may even redesign our logo as a symbol of the evolution. You, the Wazoo community, already understand the mission even if you don’t know what it is yet.

There are so many facets to this new mission that I'm not sure where to start. We’ll have to discuss them in blog posts, videos, and maybe even get into some podcasting. The gist of it is:

• Modern society is plagued with a common problem that is stifling human potential
• The problem is rooted in personal ownership and self perspective
• The solution is self reliance! Acknowledging the reality of one's situation (and mistakes) and solving one's own problems. 

This just scratches the surface. We're trying to inspire change at a personal level that will permeate through our community. A community of confident, problem solving, self reliant individuals.

So why is a little company that makes survival gear taking on such a big subject?

The fact is (*SPOILER ALERT) we all die at the end... And it is unlikely that death will be from exhaustion, in the Arctic snow, after killing 12 rabid wolves by hand. Although we should all hope to have such a dignified death, let's focus on the 1 thing we have full control of right now... LIFE!

...and we at Wazoo don't have all the answers, but we want to be part of the solution not part of the problem. In fact, the primary focus of striking out on this journey is to take a hard look at our own "accountability mirror" and we want to share the journey with you.

We challenge you to join us on this new adventure, push your limits, strive for self improvement, influence those around you, and see how empowering and freeing it can be to truly be self reliant.

PS - We will continue putting out cool wearable survival gear, in fact, this bigger mission will contribute a deeper purpose to our products and processes. Wazoo is not just products, it's a lifestyle!
